On the bus are Macmillan staff, some health professionals, and representatives of local cancer support groups (including, where possible, members of the MKCPP). With the advent of a growing NHS-wide need to share cancer care and particularly post-acute care within the community and GP/CCG jurisdictions, the Milton Keynes Cancer Patient Partnership (MKCPP) has spearheaded a new initiative in Milton Keynes entitled “Cancer and Beyond – your way ahead.”
This is within the MKCPP’s role as the only patient-led local cancer resource, information & support charity in our region.
A sad day for so many of us – August 17th we said goodbye to the beautiful Deb James who campaigned so hard for cancer patients while battling her own disease.
It was heartening to see how her home town of Northampton turned out to give her the send off she wanted, with a cheerful atmosphere, a party – not a wake, and a procession of no fewer than 40 Minis, led by her own car driven by her brother, to accompany her in a convoy to her final destination.
